Bug / Windows Toast Notifications stop working even if #enable-native-notifications flags are enable
-
The last time everything works fine was on version 2.11.1805.3 (Versão Oficial) (64 bits)... Since then i continue to use this version, and every new snapshot i install on another machine to see if was fixed, but so far no success.
Version 2.11.1805.3 was the last version where toast windows notifications and the option of note having the annoying pic-picture button coexisted.
My case is simple, Vivaldi was the only browser where i could open my browser and receive 20+ notifications at the same time, but having the windows toast notification option i could just browse the notifications and if nothing was important i would just click on clear all notifications once. its very very practical.
Since this is not working anymore on new versions i can only click on close on notifications one by one, its not practical.
you guys got 2 choices, 1) fix the old method and give us the option. making the vivaldi://flags #enable-native-notifications work again 2) make a clean all notifications at once button inside vivaldi...
personally i prefer the integration on windows, its easy to keep tabs on things.
Also, the notifications inside the browser should follow the theme colors that we use, i personally use custom dark theme on windows and i can barely see the notifications because the text has de same dark color as the background.
Also on version 3.1.1929.13 the disable pic-picture button on navigation options wont work, i remove the thing using custom css

@Gwen-Dragon let me see if i understand, if i reintall the browser with the option install for all users the windows toast notifications will work again? because if this is the case, its a easy fix for me

@Gwen-Dragon That’s my case. Installed as standalone and have the issue where the “Enable native notifications” chrome flag doesn’t work. So my Vivaldi notifications have appearance issue when Windows 10 theme is set to dark. See this issue for the extension “Checker plus for gmail” : https://jasonsavard.com/forum/discussion/6159/sender-name-color
I posted there a message referring to this thread.
Do you think it can be solved in the future with the standalone install ?

I have
“HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{BCA9D37C-CA60-4160-9115-97A00F24702D}\LocalServer32” “ServerExecutable” “D:\Programmes\Internet\Vivaldi\Application\3.2.1967.41\notification_helper.exe”
The path is valid. The thing is there is no vivaldi referenced in Windows settings > system > notifications. I don’t know if it is normal or required to work.

Good news, the last version of Vivaldi (3.5.2115.73) installed as portable fixed the light grey on white popup notification. It’s all dark now.
