Change default Chrome cache & user data location off SSD

Hello guys,
I have Samsung 970 evo I bought it a month a go, I shocked that I have 1 TB data written!

Is there a way to move the default Chrome cache & user data location off my SSD to my default HDD to reduce these huge writings since I watch many videos? and preolongate my SSD lifetime?

Hi, not that I know of.
You can install Vivaldi as standalone on the HDD but today I would not care about.

TBW: Terabytes Written
Warrantied TBW for 970 EVO: 150 TBW for 250GB model

I guess you buy a new after 10 years.

@mib2berlin Sorry, but you are says it's warrenty lasts for 150 Terabytes Written, But I already had 1.1 TB when it's only 1 month old! am I messing something?

@AhmadFaragPhD well 1,1TBW a month * 12 months * 10 years = 132 TBW < 150 TBW, that's what mib2berlin is saying

@AhmadFaragPhD To answer your question, you can move the location of the cache/user directories with the following command line arguments:

However, the cache should obviously be located on a fast IO device, so moving it an HDD is probably not the best idea in terms of performance...

If you're really brave you can try using --disk-cache-dir=NUL to avoid any disk cache at all, memory cache only. Will probably also be bad for performance because cache is actually good for ya

Install it as a stand alone
Set a different installation folder

app + cache folder are installed on selected partition/drive
not recommended to install a browser on hdd as you use them pretty much all the time . you will want their data accessible as fast as possible
