How to Rename & Share Tab Groups in Vivaldi Android
Overview
For those who have already followed my prior thread How to Enable Tab Groups/Stacks in Vivaldi Android, this is the next level of functionality to that feature set. If you haven't already, you'll need to follow the instructions in that thread to turn on the ability to group a.k.a. stack tabs
The changes presented here enable the user to rename tab groups, as well as invoke the Android sharing menu to send the tab group to another app, or whatever may be in your share menu. Exactly how the group of tabs gets shared probably depends on the target with which the tabs are shared.
How I Utilize Renaming & Sharing of Tab Groups
Typically I am sending the group of tabs to my email program. The subject gets filled with the name I've given the tab group, and the body of the email contains a numbered list of URLs corresponding to the tabs in the group. I can write whatever message I want to accompany the links and send them to whomever I want to link all these webpages.
Sending a Tabs Group to Vivaldi Desktop
Most often, I actually use this to send a whole bunch of tabs to my desktop. The share menu doesn't include Vivaldi like sharing an individual tab does; see another of my threads -- How to Send Tabs between synced Vivaldi instances. So I send this email to a special email address like [email protected]. I have that address forward all incoming mail to my primary email address, and a server-side filter on my primary inbox moves all email send to that address into a folder dedicated to receiving links.
When I'm at my desk, I can open all those links and do whatever it is I wanted to send then to my desktop to do, probably bookmark them more quickly than can be done on a mobile browser. Whatever the case, I've got that tab group saved, backed up in a way, and can open it any time in the future that I need to find some page(s) I've shared this way.
Enable Renaming & Sharing Tab Groups
It's very simple, yet another flag. Be sure to
Relaunch
the browser after modifying flags to pick up the changes.Rename a Tab Group
To rename a tab group open the group view in the tab switcher. You can do this either by opening the tabs switcher and clicking the tab, or if you're viewing a tab in the group and have the experimental tabs bar enabled from the flags listed in the original thread you can click the up arrow to the left of all the tab icons.
Once in the group view, click in the text field where it says how many tabs are in the group. Delete the existing text and type the name you want to give it. This name will display in the tab switcher making it easier to find your group, instead of the group displaying the title of whichever tab was most recently active in the group. The group name will also be included when you share the group.
Share a Tab Group
To share a group you need to again open the group view in the tab switcher. When viewing a group there is a 3 button menu icon in the top right. Click that and it'll bring up Android's native share dialog and display the various ways you can share the group depending on what you have installed on your system.
Most often I use the share menu to send the tab group to my email client, where I either email the group to whomever I am sending the links, or more frequently I email it to myself as an easy way to both archive a tab group and send it to my desktop to open there. If you've got a dozen or more tabs you want to send to your desktop, this is much easier than sending them one at a time with the
send tab
function. As an email, the tab group name becomes the subject of the email, and a numbered list is created in the body with the URLs for all three tabs in the group.
I hope this helps others who will find this feature useful but haven't discovered it in their own yet. Let me know if you have any questions.

Is it true the ability to share tab groups has been removed from Vivaldi?
