Resolving Host
-
This has happened occasionally before and just cleared up. But today, on every site, including this one, each page is incredibly slow to load. The resolving host message shows up in the bottom left corner. Any idea what causes that and how to prevent/fix it? Only happening with Vivaldi, Firefox and Brave are working just fine. Thanks!

@genej101
does it happen in a private window? if no, look for your extensions, which is slowing down your surfing experience
does it happen with a guest profile? if no, your normal profile is misconfigured. if yes check/disable your firewall/antivirus software for another testrun -
@Gwen-Dragon It happens in every tab, no proxy or VPN. Still happening. Once a tab is working, it seems to work fine, but every new click that opens a new tab has the issue. Not running many extensions and none of them have caused problems before, nor elsewhere.

Back to Firefox as my default browser. Sigh.

@Gwen-Dragon Found this is an issue with all Chromium based browsers. Going back MANY years. What I found on Chrome was a recommendation to uncheck TCP/IpV6 in network settings. Tried that, rebooted and things are working again. Though it may have been the reboot or flushing the DNS that did it, tried all three. Not a new issue and limited to Chromium based browsers - which seems to mean someone working on them might have fixed it in some release at some point. Odd that it hasn't been.

@genej101 Where specifically do I go to uncheck TCP/IpV6?
