Privacy Badger Crashes Vivaldi on certain router management web pages
-
I upgraded to the latest today (3.0.1874.23), with the new content blocker settings, and was working on configuring my router. Vivaldi started crashing every time I launched the page, had to use a different web browser to work on it. The latest Chrome with all the same plugins worked fine. Eventually figured out that disabling privacy badger (2020.2.19) fixed the issue and allowed the pages to load as normal. And if they were already loaded, re-enabling it didn't kill them immediately, but reloading the page after that would crash the browser again. The same thing happens on Windows 10 and Mac OS X (10.13), same browser and plugin versions.
The web pages in question are for netgear routers - one Orbi running stock Netgear firmware, and the other an R7000 running fresh tomato custom firmware, both latest and greatest versions of their firmware. I haven't seen it crash on any other pages. Neither Privacy Badger nor the content blocker should be touching anything on those pages, and they crash even if excluded from the content blocker (No blocking set for those IPs).
Has anyone else experienced this, or have any suggestions? I can easily replicate it to get crash logs, but I wasn't sure if I should file a bug since the issue doesn't happen except when using that extension.

I updated to 3.0.1874.29, and re-enabled Privacy Badger. The same issue is still present, immediate crash when going to 192.168.1.1 for my router interface. Disabled Privacy Badger, and it works fine.
Launching the router page in either guest mode or incognito mode works fine. Those don't use extensions, and I already established that disabling privacy badger removes the problem, so that is what I would have expected.
It worked fine when using the extension before the update, so it seems clear it is some interaction between the update and the extension.

I also tried adding those pages to the disabled sites from inside the privacy badger options, but it didn't help - crash is instant.
From the extensions page, I have the option to change the settings to "on click" or "specific sites" instead of all sites. Doing that prevents the crash, but then it doesn't seem to be actually working on the other sites.
Should I be submitting crash logs for this somewhere?

@Gwen-Dragon I did recheck with that version 3.0.1874.29 as noted above. I'll submit a report.

@Gwen-Dragon Yes, it does. I tried it before coming here, the developers responded to my bug report this morning to say this release had fixed it. I think this item in the release notes:
[Crash][Extensions] Crash opening a link with basic auth when a password manager is installed (VB-65003)
Is probably the bug fix that is related, both of those sites I mentioned pop up password entry field over the page, which I think is basic auth. It is interesting that in my case the password manager (last pass) did not cause the crash, while privacy badger did, but working again now. Thanks for your feedback on this.
