Coursera.org videos weird behaivour?
-
On coursera.org (a somewhat popular online learning platform).
The videos don't pause with spacebar like normal videos
when space is pressed it goes to the next module (on the left)No matter what setup, where ever my mouse focus, if I click on the video then press spacebar or not.
It alway goes to the next module/item. I contacted their support and they said they don't bind anything with the spacebar. I tries a couple other browsers (chromuim based and not chromuim based) and they handled the pause of the video if I click on the video first (which is normal). So it's just vivaldi.
It's been months like that (I have no idea if it was ever working I just first started using coursera like 5 months ago)
I'm sure anyone can reproduce with vivaldi but not with any other browser?
Will this be fixed?

@mohamadeen It would help if you could provide a sample video URL to test with, without having to register at the site.
If you have already tried in a Guest View window and with extensions disabled, as well as it working in other browsers, then it might be a bug in Vivaldi.
Maybe it's related to the "Fast Forward" function: Under Settings >Keyboard, disable "Space key to Fast Forward". Maybe that helps, still report it as a bug, it will be fixed in a future update:

@Pathduck
I actually tried to find a link to something but they don't have a kind of modules to be next without registering and enrolling in any course ://And it's exactly what you said, it works fine with a guest session and it was fixed in my main profile by turning off "Space key to Fast Forward" which iirc never enabled so it's on by default.
And according to this explanation of the feature; I think that it's a bug of some sort, right? As I'm focused on the video not the page bottom or something. -
I have found a solution.
go to keyboard -> keyboard shortcuts and deactivate the space option
(sorry for having the browser in Spanish)

Why not just click the pause button at the bottom of the video frame?
-
same here, the space does not work if you start watching a video on coursera and you haven't use the mouse to stop/play
the space button only works after using a mouse cursor to pause/play,
the alternative is to use key "K" in vivaldi to pause the video.
this only occurs in Vivaldi, other browsers Opera/Brave are fine and the space works without issues,
so it is a small bug in Vivaldi/Coursera videos
