Will Vivaldi Technologies always be a privately held company?
-
For a brief introduction, I am a former Opera user (before 2011), but I did not use Opera after Jon S. von Tetzchner left Opera and Opera sought to sell.
After that, I didn't contact the Internet because of school.
In 2016, I was admitted to the university and had time to access the Internet. I know that Jon S. von Tetzchner founded Vivaldi Technologies and launched Vivaldi Browser. I immediately downloaded and used it until now.In fact, I have systematically learned everything about Opera, Jon S. von Tetzchner and Vivaldi before.
Vivaldi Technologies is now a Privately held company
But I hope that Vivaldi Technologies will never go public, to avoid the tragedy that Jon S. von Tetzchner had in the past with the management in Opera.
I don't want Vivaldi Technologies to be the second Opera, pursuing business interests instead of being for the community, and staying close to the community.I care about the future and I worry about the future of Vivaldi.
If Vivaldi is under pressure to raise funds for the IPO, users who like Vivladi and understand the concept of Jon S. von Tetzchner, such as me to invest as a shareholder?
I do n’t pursue interests, I just hope that Vivaldi Technologies can maintain its original intention instead of becoming a company for business interests -
I am not a native English speaker, so I may not express myself clearly
to sum up:
-
Let those who like Vivaldi Technologies and understand the concept of Jon Stephenson von Tetzchner become shareholders, not those who pursue business interests and only have money in their eyes
-
Let users invest in Vivaldi.
This may guarantee the idea that Vivaldi is born for users
If Vivaldi Technologies needs to raise funds

@poto , Vivaldi is owned by the employees. Funding comes from me. We aim to keep it that way. We do not want outside investors and we do not want to go public. The clear goal is to keep Vivaldi on the straight and narrow.
Thanks for your support!
Cheers,
Jon. -
@jon Hopefully Vivaldi Technologies will stay that way.
Learn from history and don't let Opera's tragedy happen to Vivaldi
I hope to have Vivaldi in my whole life. I can't live without Vivaldi, and I don't want to use other mediocre browsers anymore.
Familiar with Vivaldi, and transforming Vivaldi according to my own ideas, my habits have been deeply integrated with Vivaldi.
Thank you for founded Vivaldi Technologies and creating such an amazing browser and Webmail.
Perhaps leaving Opera is an opportunity to bring a different browser to this era.
Vivaldi's idea is better than Opera
Vivaldi is a successful market positioning case
