Hulu and location
-
I just started Hulu plus. When I log in, I am asked to turn on and share the location service. I see no way to do that. Hulu works on all other browsers. Any suggestions would be appreciated as Vivaldi is my preferred browser.

@bobj2361 Click the badge in the URL field to change the site settings. You location is blocked by default because Vivaldi respects your privacy.
-
@Pesala I pressed save, but I still couldn't get it to work. Should I clear cache or restart browser or something? I've never even noticed the badge.
-
@Pesala nevermind, I was clicking the bookmark item instead of the lock.
-
I am having this issue and it won't let me past even with location sharing turned on. I've also tried clearing my cache, which didn't help. It works in every other browser, even chromium browsers, but not Vivaldi.
I'm having to use other browsers for the sole purpose of watching Hulu. It would be nice if this would be fixed.

@Gwen-Dragon Still an issue in version 3. Same exact result seen in my previous screenshots.
-
I tried this on two different Windows 10 machines on two different networks. It did not work. However, Google Chrome and Microsoft's new Chromium Edge browsers work just fine.
-
@Gwen-Dragon However, I don't want to enable location. I do have a default location set, though. Yes, I can just use Edge since, I only use the web to setup my stuff and see what is playing. I use a firestick to connect to Hulu.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Didn't work for me.
-
@Gwen-Dragon It's a desktop computer. So, location settings are not available. Like I said, though, Hulu works with Chrome, Edge, Firefox and also Brave. If I click the lock in the address bar, Hulu has access to location. Even if I click the shield and turn of all blocking, still no luck. With Brave, Hulu still works with its shields ON.
-
@Gwen-Dragon Looks like Vivaldi came out with an update, today. I installed it on 3 Windows 10 computers. None of them are able to play Hulu. I just get a message that Hulu is unable to determine my location. Chrome, Microsoft Edge and FireFox all work just fine.
-
Again, it works with every other browser but Vivaldi. Chrome, Firefox, Edge and Brave have no issues. Hulu finds my location just fine with those. I don't think the issue is with my computer.
-
@mroccella Not sure how useful this is; but Hulu does recognise that I am outside U.S.
-
@TbGbe Hulu only works in the US, I think.
-
I'm in the US.
-
@bobj2361 Yes I know, but would "blocking me" be using the location check?
-
I am not sure if you still need this but I was having the same problem. After a few cycles through Microsoft how to's I found a page that talked about geolocation. I had to enable it and select Allow apps to access your location. Everyone's page that I read warned against possible vulnerability of access from other apps to your location but I leave that up to those that want this.
In Windows go to your Windows Search bar in the task bar and type geolocation and select the Geolocation app.
Click on the Change to turn the settings to ON.
Now scroll down to the pop up to "Allow apps to access your location"
change that settings toggle to on.Finally reload your Hulu page on Vivaldi and Voila!
Be safe out there.

I forgot to mention the reference page...
