Netflix broke?
-
Today I suddenly cant seem to play Netflix content in Vivaldi anymore. I get a Error code M7701-1003, witch seems to point to some error in Widevine Content Decryption Module.
Netflix's help tells me to go to chrome://components and update Widevine Content Decryption Module.Well, no such luck. Going to that page does indeed show a few components, also the Widevine thingamajigg. But it says version 0.0.0.0 and hitting Check for Update yields zero result.
Using Linux Mint Cinnamon 19.3 and Vivaldi 2.11.1811.33 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
Any thoughts?

@SSamiK
Hi, can you try:
sudo /opt/vivaldi/update-ffmpeg
sudo /opt/vivaldi/update-widevine
Some user report problem with Debian/Ubuntu based distros, work fine on Opensuse for example.Cheers, mib

Thank you for your input!
I ran those commands, and sure enough the first one told me that Widevine is missing and to run the second command. So I did...
It downloads and installs 4.10.1582.2-linux-x64.zip and tells me to restart Vivaldi.After a restart, Netflix gives the same error as before. the chrome://components still reports widevine version as 0.0.0.0 and when I tried to rerun the commands:
sudo /opt/vivaldi/update-ffmpeg Proprietary media codecs (79.0.3945.79) was already present sudo /opt/vivaldi/update-widevine Widevine (4.10.1582.2) is already installed and does not need to be updated

Heeeps.. Nevermind last post!
Checked my processes and I had some lingering vivaldi-bin processes (11 of them). Did a "killall vivaldi-bin" and now things are working again.
chrome://components now reportsWidevine Content Decryption Module - Version: 4.10.1582.2 Status - Up-to-date
