Vivaldi and Norton Antivirus
-
Is Vivaldi going to be protected by Norton Antivirus soon? Is it safe to use without an antivirus. I do have Norton Antivirus on my computer but I can not tell if it Nortons is working with Vivaldi.

Hi,
I don't know about Vivaldi+Norton, but using:- Custom HOSTS file
- HostsMan (Windows)
- Steven Black
- Browser's AdBlocker
- uBlock
- Common sense
You will be mostly protected.
On my side I don't use AV and hadn't had problems.

For School+Pendrives, you may want an AV, Claim would help without the needing to run resident.

@Jeanniepc A good anti-virus should not need to be integrated with the browser to provide protection. Some AV have extensions or other types of plugins for browsers, these are in my opinion mostly useless.
A good AV should block any connection to insecure sites, and scan any downloaded files without needing any "integration" to protect the browser.
Here are some non-malicious tests you can run. Click on the red buttons and your AV should warn you and not let you access the page. If it doesn't then I'd consider changing AV.

@Pathduck Ok thanks I will try that.

@Pathduck Thank you very much....that eased my mind. Norton stopped every single one of those.
