Blank windows after upgrade to 2.10 {remote session with ssh}

  • This probably won't receive a warm reception because I run Vivaldi remotely (over X and ssh) on the machine in question, but as soon as I upgraded to 2.10.1745.23_p1, I got nothing but a blank window (meaning no controls - just empty white space) whenever I start Vivaldi (yes, I tried completely removing the profile so that Vivaldi has to create a new one). Downgraded back to 2.9.1705.41_p1, and everything works again.

    There are a number of messages about graphics, but I get the same messages on every machine (and every version) when starting Vivaldi.

    @0001 The issue with starting Vivaldi as remote over SSH with XServer is known and already reported in Vivaldi bug tracker.
    May be related to Vivaldi's Hardware Acceleration on the remote system.
    Does it start remote with

    ssh -Y user@remote
    .....
    user@remote $ vivaldi --disable-gpu

    ?

    Nope (sorry it took so long to test this).
