itv hub will not play content
-
as the title - started a few days ago - up to then it was fine - nothing changed on the Vivaldi install - 2 seperate laptops so not sure what the issue is other that ITV have changed something
they suggest to update settings - if i go to chrome://settings/content everything seems ok
have clean installed a new copy of Vivaldi and its just the same
however
if i install a clean version of chrome all works as it should

vivaldi://components
thanks - i checked both the 'Big Bucks Bunny' files and they both play - i then looked at vivaldi://components and the Widevine Content Decryption Module would not update so assume it is up to date
i then went back to ITV.com and tries to view a program and got the same error
for completeness i then tried Chrome and for good measure Edge and all vidios on ITV.com play perfectly
so am lost

@Gwen-Dragon
a bug - anything is possible but in this case i am doubtful - its on 2 laptops - neither have been updated in the last few days/weeks - all worked fine up until yesterday when both stopped displaying content
i suspect its itv.com who have changed something but finding any info is impossible - that said if it is itv.com then vivaldi need to investigate i would think

May be your Windows codecs got an update
Unlikely as I can reproduce the problem on Linux !!
Widevine Content Decryption Module - Version: 4.10.1582.1
Status - Up-to-date@adacom Please report to Vivaldi - they will be able to verify if it is a ITV or Vivaldi bug.

@Gwen-Dragon
would not disagree with either of your suggestions/thoughts and if true then its a problem for Vivaldi
that said Chrome and edge work perfectly - would be pushing the thought process a little if both those had been updated in the last 24/36 hours so again that points back to Vivaldi in my mind either being somehow incompatible
as an interesting note my wife tells me edge has now stopped working so do we point the finger at itv or microsoft

reported as bug with link back to this thread

I have exactly the same issue, so I'm looking forward to someone figuring out the solution.
-
@brightstreamer: Me too - but I can't get itv hub to play in any of my browsers on Linux. That's Vivaldi, Chrome, Chromium and Firefox. I think this is a generic Linux thing.
