Netflix streaming quality

Is there a specific reason why some streaming services like Netflix and Amazon won't get up to 1080p? I've been having to use edge to watch stuff on those sites. Do the sites not support this browser or something?

@SilentMarkzman I know that in chrome based browsers (like vivaldi), Netflix doesn't have access to the required codec for 1080p streaming. It's likely that amazon is the same.

On windows 10 you need to use either the app or the edge browser to get the full 1080p HD video stream.

I don't think there's a way to solve this yet, it would be up to Netflix to support it.

@LonM That sucks. I hate having to jump browsers to just watch my shows/movies.
