Want hourglass / spinning blue disc / ring when busy
-
I know this has been requested before but can't find the thread to add my vote for it.
Even after a year of constant use I'm frustrated by Vivaldi's lack of an "hourglass" or spinning blue disk cursor symbol when busy.
Which is what every other app out there has used for decades. We are advised instead to watch for a color change in the address bar above, or some words in the status bar below.
BUT
• I'm not looking at those places!! I'm looking at the cursor!!
• The address bar changes are hard to notice (change from white to gray; subtle on my machines) and seem inconsistent.
• The status line text is small and there's lots of other text around eg on windows behind but larger than Vivaldi. The result is that when things don't immediately work as expected, it's always a break in my workflow to figure out if Vivaldi even got my command.
==> It would be really nice if Vivaldi simply provided a spinning blue cursor when it's busy on a command. Instead of insisting we don't need it.

I get a "spinning blue disc" when Netflix or other streaming services are buffering.
What version of Windows? Vivaldi? Stable, Snapshot? -
Windows 10 Pro x64 with latest non-insider updates. Vivaldi 2.10.1745.21 (Stable channel) (64-bit).
I can't give you a snapshot of something that isn't there.
I never get a spinning blue disc when Vivaldi is trying to load a slow webpage. That's when I want it. I only get gray shading in the URL address bar and a message in the bottom status line.
From the previous discussion on this a year ago it's not there by design. So the one you're seeing may be generated by a video player extension in the browser, rather than Vivaldi itself. Do you see it anywhere except when streaming? Do you get it on websites that are simply slow?

- In Settings, Appearance, Window Appearance, enable Animation
- in Settings, Tabs, Tab Display, Page Load Progress, enable Favicon Spinner.
I think there is no request yet for an animated mouse cursor. See Help on Feature Requests before creating a new feature request.

Snapshot, not screenshot.

@Vivipop I am thinking perhaps it may be site related(?).
I have only limited experience developing intranet pages some 20 odd years ago specifically for IE. I don't know what new technologies offer to web developers. I do know I have seen it... but not always.
I do remember conversations about the progress line in the address bar, something I remember also from the old Opera.I do agree with you as I sometimes miss a page loading by not paying more attention to the progress bar.
Will try out suggestion from @Pesala above. Thanks for mentioning it. -
