Typo3 Backend: Editor not loading
-
Hello Vivaldians,
I am trying to work with the backend of the Typo3 content management in Vivaldi (here: 2.8.1664.40 64-Bit on Windows 10 Pro). However, if I want to edit some contents, the corresponding backend page does not show the Typo3-integrated editor. In the editor area, only a turning waiting wheel with "The editor is being loaded. Please wait..." is displayed.
In Firefox the editor is displayed after a short time.
Is it a bug in Vivaldi? Could I tweak any of Vivaldi's settings (also the ones of the Chromium engine)? What can I check?
Thanks for any hints

@Phant Do you have an example URL to test? I understand if it's not possible, if so it will be hard to figure out, you'll need to do the digging yourself.
I did try the demo site at https://www.opensourcecms.com/typo3/ and it seems to work but not sure where to look.
Have you tried in a Guest profile? Or tried to disable extensions?
Errors like this can often be caused by not accepting third-party cookies from an embedded iframe. Inspect the element in DevTools (Right-click > Inspect) to see if it's an iframe. Also check the cookies it attempts to set by clicking the Site Info (padlock) and Cookies > Blocked. If there are blocked cookies try to add the domain to allowed.

Thank you for the hints and links, Pathduck.
The demo site works. However, we are using a quite old version of Typo3 here (version 6 or so). So the behavior is likely to be different.

Reading this line and having actually third-party cookies disabled, I thought having found the solution. However, changing the setting did not help in this case.
I've asked a colleague to try this on Google's Chrome: same problem there. So it has something to do with the Chromium engine somehow refusing to load this old type of web content.
Never mind. I will stick to Firefox on editing Typo3 content.

This old version does not get any fixes in these days
Right, we are aware of that one and working on a bigger step to a current version. For now, I need to use what's there, thus, I switch the web browser for editing contents.

Did you try to use a useragent switcher to fake Vivaldi identification as Chrome? See User Agent Spoofing.
Now I've tried it (User Agent Switcher and Manager). I am a step further but the whole problem is still not resolved yet.
With Firefox set as user agent, the Rich Text Editor actually loads. However, the contents to be edited is not displayed (gray editing area) although it is there, because on clicking with the mouse anywhere in that area, the editor toolbar changes according to the hit item.
Other pretended user agents (Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge) don't bring a difference to my first state.

And it would be interesting which error messages appeared in Developer Tools (F12) in its tab Console when editor did not load.
The Console panel is empty for this page.
At this point I would not like to spend much more time, because we are talking about an old web application that will be replaced here after some time. And, as already mentioned above, I can also use Firefox for this special case.
However, I am willing to give more information to Vivaldi (and the community) if there is the demand to fix this in any way.
