KeepVid.com Malware
-
I am typically a cautious browser but destroyed my perfect record by installing software that had a virus. KeepVid . com has a series of annoying pop-ups that continue despite my deleting the software and running scans using:
- Norton 360
- Malwarebytes Premium
I have noticed that most sites giving instructions on deleting this mention a number of browsers except Vivaldi. I tried following the Google Chrome instructions which lessened popups for a while, but when I shut down and started up on the next day, dozens of back-to-back popups appeared.
Any clues or tips? Thanks!

I have scanned Keepvid with VirusTotal and I have not discovered any malware and not in the desktop app, but it does have a poor community rating.
To download videos I usually use the Clipconverter online service, which I have no problems.
Against pop-ups try AdwCleaner -
Are you sure the popups (I assume they are notifications) are coming from Vivaldi and not from the OS notifications?
Check the URL
vivaldi://serviceworker-internals
for any related workers that might be showing notifications.Do they continue if you start a clean profile (Settings > Address bar > Manage profiles > Browse as guest)
Do they happen when using other browsers?
Have you checked your extensions for any you don't want there? (Menu > Tools > Extensions)
Have you checked what starts up on boot in Windows using Autoruns?
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sysinternals/downloads/autorunsAlso, I notice you had the same issue with
ytmp3.cc
adware earlier. Did you follow the instructions given then? -
Hint: Use jdownloader and you don't have to deal with dubious sites for downloading videos and mp3 from youtube and other video sharing sites.
