Enable Spotify web player protected content
-
Hi guys,
I have found that the spotify web player is not going anymore. I get this warning: "Enable secure playback in your browser" and suggest that playback of protected content is not enabled. But it is not true if I write in the url url vivaldi://settings/content and then in the protected content entry it turns out to be enabled. In fact, however, it does not load the spotify web player version.
Also if I also use the user agent extension I can't solve the problem. I therefore ask if you also encounter the same problem and possibly how to solve it.Best regards

Thanks a lot with the last update the problem has been solved.

@fabianri Thanks. I've passed your reports on internally. Do have any problems with Netflix or any other sites requiring DRM support?

On Windows and macOS, Widevine should be installed automatically, though if you have just installed Vivaldi, or reset your profile data for example, it can take up to 20 minutes after first launching Vivaldi for Widevine to be updated. Which can cause errors like this if you immediately go to a website that requires Widevine.
If the issue persists, type 'vivaldi://components' in the URL field and hit Enter, then find and update the Widevine component, and restart Vivaldi. That should fix the issue - if not, try clearing the site data as explained here:

So, the demo video on the CastLabs site works, indicating that Widevine is installed working properly to play DRM content. However, Spotify Web Player, which worked a couple of weeks ago, no longer works. Vivaldi info:
Vivaldi 2.10.1745.26 (Stable channel) (64-bit) Revision 182b46dfa34819c30511128cebe63e8375d8e6af OS Linux JavaScript V8 7.9.317.32 Flash (Disabled) User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/79.0.3945.118 Safari/537.36
Not sure what else I can try.

@daveman1010220 Um, nevermind. I re-opened the browser and now it works.
