1Password Support for Android version
-
I am not sure if this has be build by 1Password team or Vivaldi team can do something but the only thing which still makes me go back to Chrome sometimes is 1Password suport on Android.
Hope this can be implemented soon.

Think Vivaldi should integrate with Android's Autofill service on Android 8+ devices as described here.
-
Now that Vivaldi is out of Beta for some time now. Is there any plan to support 1Password on Andriod?
-
that's currently the last blocker for me to fully switch to Vivaldi
-
Is it Vivaldi that doesn't support 1Password or 1Password that doesn't support Vivaldi?
Take a look at this discussion on 1Password's forum: https://discussions.agilebits.com/discussion/comment/557293#Comment_557293Seems like it might be an issue with 1Password rather than Vivaldi.
-
@rock3r Try this:
- Go to 1Password settings > Autofill, disable 'Autofill' and enable 'Accessibility'.
- Then, go to Android settings > Language & input > 'Autofill service' and set it to 'None' (or Vivaldi).
Does it work for you?
The suggestion above might work with other password managers as well, but AFAIK, another popular password manager, LastPass, isn't one of them.
Warning: Please note that, when using this approach, it is important to check that you are giving passwords to the correct site, since the password manager app will not be able to do it for you!
@Komposten The issue seems to be on Chromium level and apparently devs of both Chromium based browsers and password managers struggle to make the managers compatible with browsers. But IIRC, Chromium was working on something that will make the devs' life easier in the future, but who knows how long it will take.

Add me to the list. My only complaint with Vivaldi and the only thing that keeps me from using it all the time. Clearly the best browser. Not sure why others can get 1Password to work on mobile and they cannot. Hope this is at the top of the list. Otherwise I'll go back to something else soon.
-
@jane-n it doesn't work for me. What they said in 1password forums is that they can't see your requests I think. Though can't u implement the auto fill from Android 8+?
-
@jimger Please share a link to the full thread on 1Password's forum, so I could share it internally.
-
@jane-n works, but you always have to search for the passwords, so it is not that comfortable. 1Password works in Chrome, so it can start working in Vivaldi in theory, because you both share same core code. Is there any progress on this issue?
-
@0x49D1 I personally haven't tested 1Password, so I can't comment if it should work any better, but I've used another password manager, Bitwarden, and that lists only matching items.
Unfortunately, there hasn't been any significant progress on our side, but I haven't checked Chromium lately. Perhaps they've made some progress.

Still doesn't seem to be working, shoot
-
Any updates on this? Still doesn't work...
-
This is still not working. Both Chrome and Brave work as expected, as does Opera.
This issue is the only thing preventing me from using Vivaldi as my main browser.config value Vivaldi 3.5.2115.90 (Stable channel) (64-bit) Revision aa461a3bd88a05533ad39685cf09d87223f4ddb4 OS Android 10; SM-G9600 Build/QP1A.190711.020 JavaScript V8 8.7.220.31 User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (Linux; Android 10; SM-G9600) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/87.0.4280.142 Mobile Safari/537.36 Command Line --use-mobile-user-agent --top-controls-show-threshold=0.5 --top-controls-hide-threshold=0.5 --use-mobile-user-agent --enable-viewport --validate-input-event-stream --enable-longpress-drag-selection --touch-selection-strategy=direction --main-frame-resizes-are-orientation-changes --disable-composited-antialiasing --enable-dom-distiller --flag-switches-begin --flag-switches-end -
Any update around 1Password? It is the main reason I haven't switched from Chrome...
-
This seems purely like a vivaldi issue. I have 1passowrod and lastpass, and neither of them work in vivaldi. They both work in chrome, edge, and brave. I keep wanting to use Vivaldi. I keep reinstalling vivaldi every few months, but this is a deal breaker.

I'm in the exact same place. All other browsers work with password managers and Vivaldi doesn't. And it's the only reason I'm not using it. I really love the look and feel and the other features, but this is a deal breaker.

Here's the related thread in 1Password forums. It's unclear whether Vivaldi or 1Password or both need changes, but definitely sounds like they're working on it! https://1password.community/discussion/107074/support-for-vivaldi-browser/p2

Adding myself to the list of people who suffer from this. I still use Vivaldi on Android for several reasons, right now I teeth-gnashingly switch to 1passwords every time to copy the password, but this is not a solution I can accept forever.
-
I'm also waiting for this feature.
The hassle of having to switch between 1Password and Vivaldi every time I'm logging in, is big enough that I don't use Vivaldi on Android, but Firefox instead.
