Lost pinned tabs – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1675.11

[Address bar] Autocomplete from bookmark nickname can write nickname itself (VB-57483)
Yes! I've been removing quite a number of nicknames, because they hindered my typing. Wether it filling in the whole nickname itself or "eating" a letter from the point it differed from the suggested nickname. The former was especially irritating when you had chosen a rather long nickname and it differed greatly from what you wanted to type.

No tab stack! Not for you, and you, and you!
What is this, Vivaldi? Just lost a huge tab stack and the preview on stacks isn't working either.
Buggy!!Mod Edit: Obscenities removed.
Please pay heed to the community Code of Conduct.
-
@escorpiom: This is a snapshot, changes sometimes introduce new bugs.
-
@nsane: This should IMO be customisable; there are valid arguments towards both cases.

hi,
bad news Lost pinned tabs VB-55320 fixing made another Regression :
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/40844/première-pile-d-onglet-de-gauche-sans-pré-visualisation-à-la-sourie -
@pitcat No time to use a translator to understand it, but I think I can put 2 titles to what I observe:
"Pop-up thumbnails are not displayed in a tab stack consisting of 3 or more tabs when the tab stack is placed on 1st or 2nd tab row, and
Pop-up thumbnails are not displayed in a tab stack consisting of 2 or more tabs when the tab stack is placed on 1st row"" -
@npro: sory for translation but like @kocho said:
No previews on mouse hover for stacks and pinned tabs
bad google trad said :
the left tab stack no longer displays the preview of the contents of the stack as you go. and randomly on other stacks.
If I take the last stack with the pre visualization functional and I move it to the left in first more pre viewing.
On a new installation ditto two stack of tabs.
If I put two tabs left alone the next pile found the pre viewing the others too. -
@pitcat: Hey, thanks for reporting the issue, we are aware of it, and will hopefully have a fix out soon Keep an eye out for VB-58070 in future updates.

Opened with

Hello,
I note that you debugged the problem of lost pinned tabs but only on the last snapshot 1675.11 while this problem is also present on the stable version 2.8.1664.36. Do you plan to fix the problem on the stable version soon?
Thank you. Thank you. -
@LEO2 It seems to be taken into account for a next version :
@Gwen-Dragon said in Some tabs closing everytime I leave Vivaldi:The loss of tabs after Vivaldi's new start is a known issue and already fixed in Snapshot 2.9.1675.11.
A fix for 2.8 stable will come. -
@LEO2 Fixes of serious bugs are very often (I would say always) applied also in the stable version.

-
@mib2berlin yes, they are reintroducing a change that for now afflicts how the bookmark and speed dial click behave. Let's see how it develops.
-
I had been using an older snapshot and skipping builds till this one. I find this snapshot uses considerably more memory than the one I was using. Even the newest stable build uses more memory. Anyone else note this?
-
@g_bartsch: Restarting my PC fixed the memory issue and it's fine again. Weird.
-
@ruario: My dear Ruario, I've been around from Opera 9 or so...And I get desperate when both of my Vivaldi's (stable and dev) fail. Not my intention to be rude, it's just enormously frustrating having your research from the last days wiped out. I depend on Vivaldi, it's my digital life.
-
@mib2berlin Yes, and when entering an address into the address bar and pressing
Enter
the address disappears and reappears when the web page is loading. -
@LEO2 The issue has been fixed now Minor update (2) for Vivaldi 2.8
So, if you update Vivaldi, you'll have the pleasure to say "Bye bye" to that annoying issue.
