Not able to view video player in full screen
-
Hi, When I watch streams on Twitch.tv, the player doesn't manage to get full screen. The same thing happened when I was watching football via a live stream. YouTube's HTML5 player is able to go full screen though. This is what I get when I want to view a full screen twitch stream: Screenshot: The video still has a window border and the video is cut off at the bottom... Even though it says "Press escape to exit full screen mode"...

I have the same issue on my window manager. Only happen with pepper flash.
My only temporary solutions is to force it into full screen. Witch my wm is able to do.I'm taking a guessing that your using Cinnamon as your main desktop. Try "Alt + F10 " witch should Toggle maximize / unaximize window.
Vivaldi 1.0.219.50 (Developer Build) (64-bit)

Hi, thank you for replying.
Unfortunately, using Alt + F10 doesn't fix it for me. There's still a window bar at the top of the video, the video is still cut off at the bottom and my panel on the top is also still visible.. -

This didn't work for me either. Title bar and Panel are still visible.

That's TP4, which is outdated quite a bit now. I don't know which version OP is running, but the most recent snapshot is 1.0.249.12

Just updated to the latest snapshot. Same as you guys. It just that my window manager have no title bar, panel etc. So I'm able to see the full video when I force it to full screen.

Same here Kwin can force the player to full screen.

So I think the problem is that Flash content creates a new window when placed in fullscreen, and Vivaldi is somehow not sending the message to the WM, so it's not actually in fullscreen.
So far I've tried days' suggestion above, disabling Vivaldi's native window mode, and using Vivaldi's no GUI mode. Same result every time (see screenshot in my previous post). For now I can auto-hide my panel so I can see the rest of the video, but that feels like an extra step I don't want and shouldn't need to take.

I have the same issue and I don't want to complain just want to add a little bit of information.
I though situation got better in Beta 3 because although all YouTube videos worked in full screen, the ones that were streamed on youtube live had the same issue and this was fixed in Beta 3. Now i upgraded to the latest snapshot (1.0.430.3) and the windowed full screen on live streamed youtube videos is back (normal and embedded videos works normally). Vimeo, Twitch.tv, TrailerAddict works great as well. I don't have any English website that doesn't work right now but some from my country (Czech Republic) don't - stream.cz (something like czech youtube), csfd.cz (czech version of IMDB) but on the other hand videacesky.cz (non-czech videos with subtitles) works great.I'm currently using Xubuntu 15.04 and as I said Vivaldi snapshot 1.0.430.3 (or Beta 3 sometimes).
My first comment here so I just wanna say thanks for this great browser, I'm using it as my primary browser. I can always ignore this issue by full screening the window with Alt +F11 as suggested so please focus on bigger issues, this is nothing and once again thanks guys
edit: wrote wrong beta version - Beta 2 -> Beta 3
