Crunchyroll's video player isn't working as expected
-
I have this bug since Vivaldi 2.5 when I was trying to watch episodes on Crunchyroll's website. This doesn't happen on other browser like Firefox or Opera.
I reported it ofc (VB-53974), but this issue isn't fixed yet. The capture shows one episode I selected to watch, but it just appears that black square instead of the player's website. -
Hello there,
The video plays fine:

Before jumping on conclusion, please run the test case bellow:

@lamarca
Hi Lamarca. Thanks for the test. It worked without issues, but the CR player still doesn't work for me. -
@lamarca https://i.imgur.com/fuCjk9x.jpg These are the results of the test. Everything looks fine.

Plays fine here as well.

@infinitephoenix Are you able to play youtube? If so, have a look at this.
Keep in touch -
YT runs properly w/o issues.
-
@infinitephoenix Do Crunchyroll's videos play in other browser? Perhaps the link I posted above can give you a clue.
-
It's working fine with Opera. Sorry, I've changed the previous capture. This episode runs fluently as it should.
-
@infinitephoenix In case you have adblock, try disabling. Perhaps someone comes up with a fix.
Sorry for the issue you are having. -
Adblock 'n AdGuard are completely disabled, but it remains as it was reported. Thanks anyway for the support, Lamarca.

@infinitephoenix You are welcome. Last question: are you running the latest Vivaldi Stable ( 2.6.1566.40-1)?
-
@infinitephoenix what happens if you try to play it in a private window? Or using a guest/new profile? Can you watch it if you disable hardware acceleration? (requires browser restart) What's your OS, build and GPU? Are you using the 32-bit Vivaldi? Opera is still on Chromium 73 while Vivaldi is on 75, so it doesn't say much comparing the two. Looks like you are on a laptop, you sure Vivaldi is using the same GPU as the other browsers do? Usually laptops have 2 GPUs one on-board, the other dedicated.
-
@lamarca Yes, it's the lastest stable version.

Hi Npro. I tried it on guest profile, but that message appeared while it was trying to play the episode. The GPU acceleration was turn off months ago. My OS is W10 build 1903 (18372.175) with 64-bit arquitecture. My laptop has Core I5 7200U (Intel HD 620) 'n Geforce 940MX as GPUs. The main's the 1st one.
It shows the same message on guess mode with GPU acceleration enabled. -
@purgatori
Many thanks. It's working now (finnaly). The issue was caused by "PIA VPN".
I guess it's MACE's fault which applies even when the VPN isn't active. It's fixed while the session is closed.
I'd logged out my account on its extension then I clicked F5 to refresh website. I need to report this issue to them 'cause this hasn't happened before. -
Tagged as resolved.

@lamarca Can't see it
