Vivaldi causing windows to crash after 1903 update
-
Hello, I’m a pretty new Vivaldi user and this is my first time posting here.
I have been using this browser for about a month and it has been an amazing experience. My problem is that after I updated windows from 1809 to 1903 today, I keep getting a blue screen error shortly after I open Vivaldi, every single time so far. I opened chrome and this isn’t happening. The error says this: “stop code: page stopped in nonpaged area”.
I didn’t think it was Vivaldi at first, but it seems to only happen after I open it.
Has anyone else experienced this since updating windows? and does anyone know how I can fix it? I think I will first uninstall Vivaldi and re-download it. Any help would be greatly appreciated, because I don’t want to have to use chrome. I love Vivaldi. -
@casey3p0 Sorry to hear about that! I know blue screens of death are annoying to deal with. Could you try opening Chrome and seeing if that triggers a BSOD? The problem with BSODs is that they can't be reproduced easily by others.

Hello there,
Does Vivaldi crash? If so, please report a bug. Before, have a look at the article below:
https://help.vivaldi.com/article/reporting-crashes-on-windows/
You will be given a number (VB-xxxxxx), please, post it here for our follow up.

BSOD doesn't generate crash log file?

Download and run BluescreenView (https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/blue_screen_view.html). If the BSoD's generated dump files (as they should), those should show up in this program and the bottom half of the screen should show which drivers and files were involved. For example, drivers containing "dx" or "nvid" would be graphics-related.

Bsod core dump needs third-party. Thank you.

@casey3p0 Until 1903 updates here, can't test this.
