Vivaldi seems to be having trouble finding Chromecast?
-
Hi I use Chromecast from my Vivaldi Browser frequently, but lately I have begun to notice that Vivaldi lately has been having trouble just finding the Chromecast to stream to. It just keeps saying that it cannot find it, which is bizarre because I can use a program to still get to the Chromecast, or my Android to do so.
But I still require the use of this browser in order to cast certain things to my Chromecast, so this spotty behavior is starting to get a little frustrating.
Is it just me or does the spottiness seem to happen for others too?
Edit: I noticed that sometimes I have to entirely restart Vivaldi in order for it to wise up and actually see the Chromecast finally, but this isn't 100%. It is still frustrating to do this everytime it decides to not want to see it.

@kuiperfrog When this happens the next time could you please poen a new private window (Press " Ctrl + Shift + N" ) and try from the privat window if it will work.

@zaibon Just now I tried because it happened again, and no it refuses to find Chromecast even though everything else will.
Edit: To help with some more information... I have restarted my PC, restarted the Chromecast, restarted the router... but this problem pops up many times.
What I am casting, I use this: https://www.nightdev.com/twitchcast/
I seem to notice that when it's trying to cast this, it hangs and then from there on, Vivaldi will just never see the chromecast anymore.

Hi, Vivaldi find my Chromecast but I have no idea how to start the stream.
Is it may the same like Amazon Prime Video?
Cast first then start video, in Chrome it work to start the video and the cast but Vivaldi not.Cheers, mib

I've also experienced the same thing. Even the Youtube option seems to be gone too. Before I could just press the cast button in youtube.
Now I'm stuck using chrome to cast. I hate it.

@b1ackbird
Hi, Youtube is working fine here: Vivaldi 2.6.1546.4 / Chrome 74.0.3729.134
but if you have no cast button you can use RMButton in the page.
In the context menu is a "Cast" entry too.Cheers, mib

@mib2berlin Unfortunately this doesn't work over here. Right-clicking for that is what I have to use and it still will not find the device.
Edit: I just tried a test using Google's Chrome browser on the same PC and casting from it works instead of Vivaldi.
Something is specifically on Vivaldi's end where it's having a hard time even finding the Chromecast.
