Error: "WhatsApp works with Google Chrome 36+"
-
Hi,
Today for the first time after updating Vivaldi I wanted to start Whatsapp Web that I got the following:
WhatsApp works with Google Chrome 36+
I searched the forum and only found one Russian post about this dated 7 days ago. Is this me or others are experiencing the same thing?
My setup info:

- Vivaldi 2.5.1525.41 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
- Revision bc81ddc00e488e8a9a8766992215e16d3ad093d5

@m-mahmoudian This is known and there is a pinned topic about this:
https://forum.vivaldi.net/topic/37195/vivaldi-2-5-breaks-whatsapp-web?page=1
Basically: Whatsapp is at fault. We are working on it as a workaround just change your user agent (this won't work in a webpanel)

@zaibon Thank you for the reply. Apparently WhatsApp is recently always at fault. For now I will stick to Firefox for whatsapp until the issue is resolved.
Also regarding the pinned post you mentioned, it seems who ever made that post wrote wrong wording of the error since if you search the exact error in the forum it does not show up:

@m-mahmoudian
When you go to the "Vivaldi for Windows" category it is the first entry.
When you perform a search it is correct that the specific error message won't bring up any results but just searching for whatsapp and selecting only show results newer than one week will bring up 82 results where in most topics already is a link to said pinned topic and an explanation about what happen.Of course you a free to use Firefox while waiting for a fix but on the other hand spoofing a user agent is not rocket science and can be done in less than a minute even if you have not the slightest clue what you are doing ; )

EDIT: Oh, and that whatsapp got hacked by israeli ex-unit-8100 members is a complete different thing to "whatsapp just offers badly written code so they screw up their own browser sniffing"

Okay so for the stable channel there already was a fix released a few minutes back so you just need to update.
