Disable media keys for Vivaldi
-
Hi,
Since last version, Vivaldi has been pickup up my media keys (Play, pause, stop etc) on my keyboard and my mouse but I don't want that to happen.
How do I change that ?
Thanks.

Go to vivaldi://flags
Search "Hardware Media Key Handling", and set to disabled.

Awesome! I just switched from Chrome to Vivaldi a short while ago. The final drop to make me move was the introduction of this "feature" where I couldn't turn off my Spotify in the background anymore once I opened a YouTube video. In Chrome I could not figure out how to disable the media keys. Glad there's a solution here!
But I think this needs a dedicated setting in the normal preferences - if there is none yet: where do I send the request to?
Ah, I'll figure it out. Just wanted to give some feedback and a +1 here. Some features are meant well, but just don't provide any benefit while interfering with existing routines -
FYI, this is currently tracked in a Chromium ticket here: https://crbug.com/955080

This setting disable them from functioning in Vivaldi (what is intended), but Vivaldi still intercepts them and make them useless with dedicated media players unless Vivaldi is closed, which is absolutely not intended nor normal, no other browser does that unless a media tab is open, which is not the case in my Vivaldi session.

@LittleKingJohn Thanks a tons sir.
This is the best browser I've ever used, coming from Opera, Chrome, Edge and Firefox, let's go! -
