How to transfer active logins to another PC
-
I've succesfully copied my profile folder to another PC, but I have to log in again to every website. The problem is that I forgot an account password and lost access to the email account connected to the account, so I can't recover it, but I'm still logged into it on Vivaldi. Is there a way I can transfer this login to the other PC?

@BoerenkoolMetWorst You can simply sync the two PCs.

And you can export logins as a CSV formatted text file and re-import on other PC.
To export:
Openchrome://settings/passwords
On the page near Saved passwords click the 3-Dots and open menu and select Export
IN fiel save dialog enter a filename for the CSV file and save to a portable media like USB stick (beware, logins in fiel are not encrypted!)For import:
Copy the previous save CSV file from stick to other PC
Openchrome://flags/#password-import
Set to Enabled
Restart Vivaldi
Openchrome://settings/passwords
Click 3-Dots-menu and select Import, chose the previous saved CSV file and confirm
After all is imported (checkchrome://settings/passwords
) do open Openchrome://flags/#password-import
and Disable the flag. Please delete the CSV file after all importing as they contain unencrypted passwords.
I'm simply still logged into that site, and checked the remember me checkbox when logging in, so my password is not saved in the password manager.

Doesn't work, probably because I haven't saved to the password manager as explained above. My guess is that the login is saved into a cookie, but doesn't that get transferred when copying the whole profile folder?

@BoerenkoolMetWorst The cookie is transferred. But since the data it contains doesn't match your machine's unique ID, it's not operative.

Eventually you're going to be logged out anyway, for one reason or another, so why not get administrative help on the account now, and switch it to an email you have control over? Or do the same to get control over the email account in question?
