We will be doing maintenance work on Vivaldi Translate on the 11th of May starting at 03:00 (UTC) (see the time in your time zone).
Some downtime and service disruptions may be experienced.
Thanks in advance for your patience.
Right click behaviour
-
In Chromium on Linux right clicking shows a menu on button press (down), but in Vivaldi the menu is shown on button release (up).
This behaviour is annoying, it means having to click twice instead of being able to keep the button depressed, navigate to the desired menu item and then releasing the button.
Is this something we can change? I've combed through the settings and didn't see it. But I could be overlooking it.
-
@klompvoet The limitation may be required to support mouse gestures, which are performed with right-click.
Disabling mouse gestures does not change the behaviour, but having the context menu displayed whenever you try to perform a gesture would be very annoying.
-
Yeah, I can see that being an annoyance indeed :D.
Would be nice to have a choice between gestures/this behaviour.Gestures are nice if you can remember them but at the moment that isn't working for me.
-
@klompvoet I only use a few, so they're easy to remember.
- Close Tab = Up, Down
- Reopen Closed Tab = Down, Up
- Open Link in Background Tab (Over a Link) = Down
- Scroll Page to Top = Up
- Scroll Page to Bottom = Down
- History Back = Left
- History Forward = Right
- Panel = Right, Left (my panels are on the right)
-
If you disable both gestures and rocker gestures then restart Vivaldi, right click menu will appear on button down.
If you like to use gestures have a look at easystroke mouse gestures which I use for universal gestures in Linux.
