Highlights text when trying to click on a link
-
I love Vivaldi and I want to use it as my main browser, but there is one thing that I find annoying and I don't know if it can be disabled.
In every other browser I have used, when I click and drag on a link it picks it up (e.g. so a .url file can be dropped on the desktop). But in Vivaldi it highlights the text just like any other text on the page.
The thing is that once the text has started highlighting it takes another 5 or 6 clicks before the text selection stops and the link starts behaving as a link again. This is a problem for me because I have a motor condition that means I can't hold the mouse still while I click. In other browsers, when I unclick it simply stops the dragging and I can keep trying and eventually it will load the page. Sometimes it takes me 30 seconds to click on a single link in Vivaldi while it is highlighting and unhighlighting the text. It's just this one tiny issue that is preventing me from making a full switch!
So can that behaviour be disabled at all?
The ability to highlight and copy just the text from a link is very useful, but being able to reliably click a link is surely more useful and more frequently used. In Chrome you can highlight & copy link text by holding down Alt.

@RodneyRabbit If you will read the instructions at the link and file a bug report, I will confirm it. I also find Vivaldi hypersensitive to lateral movement when clicking on a link, causing highlighting.

Thank you and sorry for the delayed response. I have filed this under VB-51921.
