Download of a large file automatically pausing every ~6.2GB
-
I'm downloading a virtual machine file (a 46GB .ova file) and the download is pausing every approximately 6.2GB (at 6.2GB, 12.4 etc.). I doubt this my ISP's doing but I don't know how I would go about checking what is causing this. Is there some setting in Vivaldi that could be causing this behaviour? An extension?
Vivaldi 2.3.1440.61 (Stable channel) (64-bit) Revision 2280481e163fe1c769ad046b453248ddb5bd477e-refs/heads/master@{#629885} OS Linux JavaScript V8 7.2.502.28 Flash 32.0.0.142 /home/user/.config/google-chrome/PepperFlash/32.0.0.142/libpepflashplayer.so User Agent Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux x86_64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/72.0.3626.122 Safari/537.36 Vivaldi/2.3.1440.61 Command Line /usr/bin/vivaldi --flag-switches-begin --ignore-gpu-blacklist --flag-switches-end --save-page-as-mhtml Executable Path /opt/vivaldi/vivaldi Profile Path /home/user/.config/vivaldi/Default

Has anyone here had similar experience?

I have now verified that this pause also happens when the computer is in active use and that the actual download amount is 6.36GB not 6.2GB as I stated in my original post. I can now rule out that this is being caused by the system going to sleep (all such settings are turned off anyway - but you never know).

I have never had this issue with my Vivaldi (2.4.1488.4 (Official Build) (64-bit)), Snapshot versions (Win10).
Not using any of the Extensions you use, but do use:- Privacy Badger,
- uBlock Origin,
- nanoAdblocker,
- nanoDefender, and
- Windows Defender Browser Protection
I download a fair bit including ISOs but I used to have a fibre connection. Recently moved I no longer have that but have been too busy to do much downloading.
Will test tomorrow.
