New tab pages not working always

Hello,
i am the author of the extension NelliTab and its already optimized for Vivaldi. Its working great and made all the settings that the new tab page is shown on new tabs, homepage and at startup.
But i have a special case where the new tab page is not shown. If i close all windows on Mac without quiting Vivaldi and creating a new window (e.g. with Cmd+N) the page chrome://vivaldi-webui/startpage is shown instead of chrome://newtab. I tried already everything by use "Controlled by Extension" or just entering chrome://newtab in settings in "New Tab Page", "Start Page", "Homepage" etc. but nothing helped.
I already opened a bug report but got no answer. Maybe i made something wrong in settings that bug report was ignored. Does anyone has an idea what i can use in settings to get this special case to work? I could make a workaround to read the tab url in the extension but this would cause that the user can not make own changes in settings anymore if the extension always overwrites the url chrome://vivaldi-webui/startpage to new tab page. This could not be the solution.

It's unlikely that your bug was ignored, more likely that there simply aren't enough devs to fix the bug right away.
