[ Solved ] Countless of background processes ?¿?
-
Hey Boys and Girls !!!
How are y'all doing today !
I got a quick question and i hope someone is able to clearway for me.
When i open a fresh new browser of Vivaldi i suddenly see 12 different processes in my task manager all opening with that 1 single browser tab.Now if this browser is secure, private and so on. everything Vivaldi claims to be. Can someone then explain to why in the heck there are sooooooo many background processes running for 1 browser tab ?
All 12 of them instantly background processes almost instantly appear when i open my browser. Normally with Chrome i am used those those processes as Google tries everything in his might to steal you personal data.
But as Vivaldi claims to be 100% private and secure.. Then what are all these background processes doing ? There are actually more processes on vivaldo then Chrome, Firefox and Opera together !
Many thanks for the help..
Enjoy this wonderful day everyone !

@Gyzimo Vivaldi and Chromium share the same engine (blink).
The browser do a process for any extension, tab, webpanel (vivaldi), plugin (pdf/flash) and so on.
Maybe you have more processes due webpanels.
And no, Vivaldi won't spy you
With shift+esc you can open vivaldi task manager, so you can know what the processes actually do. -
@Hadden89 Many thanks for your reply my friend.
I have looked in the task manager of vivaldi, i was unaware of this feature.
I am new to vivaldi as i was a Opera user.
But that company is sold and the new chinese CEO also
(is or was) in jail for stealing personal info and selling this.
And as i am a (web) developer and build things for people
in the crypto world, it for me is utter most important when i
enter one of my keys that they are private.
Thats the reason i try to figure out those processes.I have looked and i see a couple of processes i can
not link to anything.. If you or someone else could
explain me what they do and for what. And if
so how to disable / block some of the processes
that would be great.extra info: The only tab i have open is this topic page.
I have no other tabs open. Many thanks

@Gyzimo My "simplified" view of the processes (probably incorrect):-
Browser - Chromium/Blink base
GPU - graphics
Background Page - Vivaldi UI Html
App - Vivaldi UI Javascript/CSSExtension - extensions
Then you have Tabs and Panels.
