Download file size limited to 6MB?
-
After a bit of searching in the Forums, I can't find where this is addressed:
When I get an attachment larger than 6 MB to download, Vivladi starts the download and gets up to 6 MB and say's 'finished'. When it's not.
I have to open Firefox or IE to download the file.
Been that way for some time.
Reason for the cut-off at 6?
Thanks! -
@Alou Welcome to the forums and enjoy Vivaldi Browser.
F1 access the whole Vivaldi Knowledge Page.Let me confirm, is it an e-mail file attachment, if so, what are mail service you are using?

A file attached to an email. Using various web mails: yahoo, gmail, aol (verizon), mail.com
For the longest time, I thought the file was corrupted in 'transit' from the sender, and asked the sender to resend the file. Interesting that Firefox fails to download file attachments larger than 12 MB. IE (not Edge) seems to not have a restriction.
Most recently the file was 7.3MB. Vivaldi downloaded it normally, until it reached 6.0 MB then it sped up and indicated finished. The file was in the download folder intact appearing (properties showed 6.0 MB), but it would not open.
I have not tried Chrome.
Thanks!

@Alou I can download larger than 6MB, however I am testing the new Vivaldi built-in e-mail client. Let me ping a heave user mail to get his opinion.

Thanks, lamarca!
I have not tried downloading a file larger than 6 MB in my Vivaldi email, as it is pretty new email and folks don't yet know it..
Maybe if I forward the emails with the attachments to Vivaldi email, it would download completely? Might be easier than opening another browser. -
@Alou You are welcome. Vivaldi always offers the best for the users. Your solution is valid, give us a feedback.

Thanks for all the feedbacks and suggestions:
Using my Yahoo webmail in Vivaldi browser, downloads stop at 6.0 MB. Regardless of source or file type. Vivaldi even says the download is complete and it shows a complete file in File Explorer. However, the file is not.
If I forward the email from Yahoo to my Vivaldi webmail, the file downloads entirely in Vivaldi browser.
(So, it's a Chrome limit, as the same happens in Chrome browser, but Firefox limits Yahoo webmail downloads to 12.0 MB; no reasonable limit using IE browser.)
So, even today, to download a 7.2 MB file attached to an email in Yahoo, I have to either forward the email to Vivaldi webmail or open Yahoo webmail in Firefox or IE.
Vivaldi is sure preferable to the other browsers otherwise!
