How to add Firefox extensions in Vivaldi
-
I recently downloaded Vivaldi and was going about installing some privacy extensions (https everywhere, Clean Links, uBlock Origin, etc.) when I noticed that most of them are firefox only. I had a quick go at installing them manually but couldn't figure it out. Does anyone know a way to install firefox extensions in Vivaldi? Help appreciated.

You can't, different format, different APIs.
You can check chrome store for similar ones -
@iAN-CooG Alright, thanks for letting me know.

If they are built using the chrome api, which Firefox supports, you should be able to install them with a bit of finageling.
- Download the xpi
- Unzip it
- Visit the extensions page and turn on developer mode
- Open the folder you unzipped as an unpacked extension
Note however that if there is even a single non chrome API call it will not work.
It's probably not worth the hassle, especially for extensions available on the chrome Web store.
