Selenium webdriver compatibility
-
Hey guys,
I'm working on a few automations using selenium/python but the chrome/ff wd's are quite slow and unreliable.
I was wandering if somebody (or the Vivaldi devs) made a custom selenium webdriver for vivaldi. If anyone can shed some light in this, I'd be really grateful.
Cheers,

@Gwen-Dragon Can you ask if is there any plan to release a driver? Selenium is very common (and useful) not only for browser testing, but for web automation as well.
-
I also would be very interested in having this driver built.

Any update on the webdriver support for Vivaldi?

@ValeWalker27 you may link us the selenium API (most people here may not know what it is/it does). But the fact don't/didn't work well on chr/FF is already not a good sign

@Hadden89 Thank you for your response. I have been using selenium webdriver for automations, both for personal use and at work, with both Chrome and Firefox. I feel it is slow at times, but never faced anything major. Since I'm inclined towards Vivaldi now, would love to have selenium support for Vivaldi browser, so I could use Vivaldi as my only browser.
As requested: Selenium API => https://www.selenium.dev/selenium/docs/api/javascript/index.html

Testing with Selenium does not work with Vivaldi.
That what i was told in 2020 when i asked in dev team, they use their own programs (i do not know which) for testing of UI. -
@DoctorG Seem that someone already asked for it but if it meant to work on plain chromium could be hard (notice also brave and opera are excluded being more divergent from chrome UI)
-
And there is a open bug VB-50562 "No VivaldiDriver available for automating (selenium) testautomation" in Vivaldi's bug tracker.
