export extensions settings
-
is there a way to copy the actual extensions settings and put them in a new profile?
-
See the list here
From Vivaldi Browser Help (Hit F1
F11to access the whole Knowledge Base) -

@potmeklecbohdan You're right. Hit F1 - keyboard issue.
Thanks, post edited. -
much thanks for replies, i'm looking at the help docs.
what i want to do is to update the default extension settings with the old ones.
i'm thinking this procedure, will it do the trick?-install the extensions within the new browser istance
-copy and paste "\AppData\Local\Vivaldi\User Data\Default\Extensions" folder in the new profile folder -
@urfausto According to the guide, copy all these folders to the new profile:
Extension Rules, Extension State, Extensions, Local Extension Settings, Local Storage, Managed Extension Storage, Extension Cookies and Secure Preferences – all extension preferences and extension data are stored here.
-
@urfausto You are welcome.
Cheers -
@Hadden89 ok so every and each of those folders are necessary to replace and import the old settings.
-
@urfausto said in export extensions settings:
ok so every and each of those folders are necessary to replace and import the old settings.
Yes. That's by design.
-
@lamarca ok perfect. one last question:
since i will move all those folders, do i still need to previously install the extensions manually? -
@urfausto I believe isn't necessary, since all the extensions are store on those folders. Back first, just in case.

@Hadden89 Chromium core, very interesting. Does the strings stored at your the Folder Extension match?
-
@lamarca They match.
120 from store
23 are unpacked (not in extension folder)
38 are active, others are off.But... if you place an extension in the folder (with or without the other datas) is not seen by the browser.
Only way to make recognize them is via store or load as unpacked (step1) inchrome://extensions
page and then copying the "old" data to keep the previous configuration (step3) -
@Hadden89 They shouldn't match. 23 unpacked might be interfere. In case you have a folder pkedcjkde**, the content is different - (remember the mods file), unlike the extensions folder

@lamarca Could be a wrong count on my side, or maybe the "extension I use for extensions" also count (but not list) the pke*** extension (chromecast?)
Fun fact: another addon (privacy badger) start with pke*** -
@Hadden89 The folder pke* is present on Unix and Win, just asked the Mac guy. One more information: pke related to privacy.
Off-Topic: North or South?
