Hide nicknames/descriptions for bookmarks
-
The mod will hide nicknames/decscriptions if you don't need them.
On add bookmark (hide input on urlbar popup)
.cardview.description, .cardview.nickname {display: none;} .addbookmark-cardwrapper .dialog-content {min-height: auto;} /*fix popup height */
At bookmark page (hide columns)
.manager .vivaldi-tree .tree-row label:nth-of-type(3), .manager .sortselector.sortselector-tableheader label:nth-of-type(3), .manager .vivaldi-tree .tree-row label:nth-of-type(4), .manager .sortselector.sortselector-tableheader label:nth-of-type(4) {display: none;}
At bookmark panel (hide input boxes)
.manager-editor .lower-half > div:nth-of-type(1), .manager-editor .lower-half > div:nth-of-type(2) {display: none;}
Bonus: Hide the small preview too (on panel)
.addbookmark-cardwrapper .upper-half .preview, .notes-cardwrapper .upper-half .preview {display: none;}

@hadden89 I never use nickname so for hiding them in editor (in panel, too):
.manager-editor .lower-half > div:nth-of-type(2) { display: none !important; }

Updated to cover more UI areas

This has changed a bit now:
label
s in.sortselector
are nowdiv
s- to align the columns with headers you have to change
flex-grow
of the.tree-row label
s to1
By the way, it'd be good to use

@potmeklecbohdan Sadly I'm pretty bad on doing flexible things, and not very sure on how to update this without breaking the table layout (I tried but results were pretty bad)

@Hadden89 Just add this (and change the
.sortselector label
s to.sortselector div
s).manager.bookmark .vivaldi-tree .tree-row > label { flex-grow: 1; }

@lamarca said in Hide nicknames/descriptions for bookmarks:
Thumbnails, description are a plague.
I really like the thumbnails, and even make sure to update the ones missing a thumbnail. I'm actually thinking about coming up with some way to automate this - finding bookmarks that are missing thumbnails and triggering the update in Vivaldi just for those. Ideally it will take a number to limit how many bookmarks it will trigger during each run. With a bookmarks library the size of mine, doing that to all which are missing a thumbnail would end up creating an enormous queue for Vivaldi to process all at once.
I do generally agree with you on the descriptions though. I almost never use them, and the extremely rare occasions that I have I could easily use something else for my needs. In fact, I probably should have most of the time. Only a couple times have I put a note on a bookmark to remind me of something when I come across that bookmark later.
@potmeklecbohdan Thanks for the fix. After my recent update, Vivaldi implemented my feature request of resizing the columns, but my CSS stopped removing some columns. Now I'll just go make a couple changes in my file and get it back to how I like it.

Hello there,
The script removed the bookmark description included by the site, not images. They included that trash" in silence".

I don't know how old this possibility is, but the columns of the tree view can be hidden through r-click on their headers.
