[1.0.178.2] Vivaldi Settings window can't switch from General
-
I can't switch from General panel to the others in the Vivaldi Settings window. Can anybody confirm the problem? (WinXP 32)

Hi, I have the same issue on Linux and report it to bug tracker.
I am curious why nobody reported it before I saw your post.Cheers, mib

Known bug (already fixed internally)
In the meantime, you can switch the UI to English, use the setting you want, then switch back to your language.
-
Indeed, I can remember, that I've read earlier already about this "…switch to english then back...". Short memory...
-
Workaround:
-switch the UI to English -> Select Appearance -> Disable "Use native windows" -> switch back to your language
-Open Settings -> Select "Search" -> Press any key (eg Spacebar) -> All setting are available -
Thanks, mottenmouse! It works perfectly! :cheer:

It appears it's a holiday in the US and most of Western Europe. We call it Memorial Day. Don't know what it is on the other side of the pond…

Whit Monday in Norway and Iceland … and several other European countries

Ah, yes. Whit Monday. Monday after Pentecost - a movable feast on account of Easter is always sliding around the calendar.
That's not a national holiday in the US, because we aren't sufficiently Catholic. Instead, we have a holiday to celebrate those who do our killing for us. And that is a holiday EVERYONE (except those in retail of course - gotta keep that "free" market pumping) observes, because there's nothing like worshiping those who kill and die to support the foreign policy of the elites.
Of course, EVERYONE had veterans die in the "Last Good War," but not everyone has multiple holidays to memorialize that fact. Here, rather than pay for veterans benefits in a manner commensurate with the rigor and selflessness of their service, our political class prefers to wave flags at them and have parades for them and name things after them.
Don't get me wrong. I am as in awe of the "greatest generation" (the men and women who sacrificed as one, and pulled together to save the world from fascism) as the next guy. My dad, rest his soul, served in the Battle of Britain and in North Africa as well, and I'm lucky he survived, or where would I be? But now we send our kids, mostly poor ones, to fight and die for causes that benefit NO ONE but the moneyed class - and while I respect the kids, I do not respect these causes. Listen to the Jackson Browne song "Lives in the Balance" on YouTube or something. Listen to it two or three times. Read the lyrics. You'll get where I'm coming from.
Sorry to be a bummer on a celebratory day.

Yes, we celebrate today Whit Monday in Hungary, too. I think, we will receive the next build tomorrow., what I'm waiting for.

Thank you for the tip with switching settings tabs.
I hope to get a tuesday build this week… -

In Italy I, believe we are Catholic, enough, but this day is not holiday.
Likely because there are too many other holidays days in a small time frame.
25/04 is the liberation day, 1/05 is labor day, 2/06 is the republic day, and depending on the years there's Easter too…

We aren't Catholics in Norway either, but we like holidays
