New theme selected reverts back to default "Light 1" after restarting Vivaldi (2.0 glitch?)
-
This is only happening now after an update to 2.0. Never happened before. What gives?
-
@fusion1 Can't reproduce it. Everything works as expected here.
Light 1 is not a default, BTW. It's a copy of Light that you can probably delete.

Oh ok, I guess I looked at it too quickly, but the default is "light" and it keeps reverting back to it. I have changed it to my custom theme and it works until I close Vivaldi. Once I restart Vivaldi, the theme is changed back to "light" and not the "custom theme" setting I changed it to.

I figured out what is going on. It was the new setting from 2.0 that I had checked in the theme menu for scheduling a theme change based on what time it is. I mistakenly thought it was a sort of nightlight or dimmed lighting based on evening hours, similar to what Microsoft has built into Windows 10. When it said "Light" 06:30- 21:00 and the other hours "dark" I didn't think it mean it will change themes but just dim the output. Since it doesn't have anything to do with dimming the screen output, what is the useful application for this?
-
@fusion1 It determines when themes you have selected will be used. It doesn't change an installed theme, but merely switches between them. If you have "theme (a)" selected for this time period, you won't be able to switch off it unless you change the schedule.

You get to choose the colour changes that you wish to take effect at night-time. They can be subtle or obvious, whichever suits you the best.
