Export Save Sessions to HTML or Text file in 2.0
-
Vivaldi 2.0 looks good, although there still is no export save sessions; at this point that is my only request.
-
@sparrows You can export them manually for use between different versions of vivaldi:
- In the address bar, type
vivaldi://about
- Make a note of the Profile Path
- Visit this location
- Find the folder called Sessions
- In here are your saved sessions, which you can copy or move to other vivaldi profile folders.
However, yes, there currently is no way to export them to a more portable format for use with other applications.
I previously made an extension which can export the currently open tabs, so you could open the saved sessions one by one and export them all individually: https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/tab-exporter/nfplecfiodfcjnkkflgcgijnhhgglbgf
Hopefully these workarounds are helpful.

@LonM When toggling on Group by Window, followed by Download to HTML I get an error in your extension; file could not be found ?
As well, it's not accessible by means of the right mouse context menu - In the address bar, type
-
@sparrows I'll look into that

Hopefully you have an update ready very soon

@sparrows I've uploaded v1.0.1 to the chrome web store. Whenever they get around to approving that, it should fix the issue.

Could you add the ability so it's accessible within the context menu which can be accessed by right clicking ?
-
@sparrows I'm not sure what you mean. The context menu is designed for context-specific actions. to me using the browser Action (the normal extension button and pop-up) seems like it would make more sense.
I also can't add it to any Vivaldi specific context menus like for sessions or tabs.

When you right click anywhere within the Vivaldi window, you get a context menu and within this menu there are extensions as well, your extension which I'm glad you created it; can't be added to this context menu ?

@sparrows Ah, you mean just on the context menu of a page?
Typically these actions would be reserved for extension functionality specific to that page. It could be added, but in my mind for actions more general to the whole browser (such as saving all of the tabs at once), it would be best to leave it in the browser action popup.
If you were after some quicker access, I could add a keyboard shortcut for it, but last time I checked those were broken in vivaldi
, so that wouldn't work.

That is what I meant the context menu of a page
You can attempt to add a keyboard shortcut for your extension or simply just add your extension to the context menu of a page, considering that keyboard short-cuts break.
