Chromium 70 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1322.4

@an_dz said in Chromium 70 update – Vivaldi Browser snapshot 1322.4:
@stardust: What does vivaldi://flags/#account-consistency flag say? Is it at default?
Yes
-
@stardust Strange. Does it work if you set it to disabled?
-
@an_dz no effect
-
@stardust Do you have any other flag changed?
-
@an_dz all flags are set to default.
I've also tested standalone version 1322.4 on windows 7 yesterday (fresh installation). Undeletable google cookies were there. -
@stardust I installed this snapshot and it really does not work. It appears that the fix did not actually got in this snapshot, so let's wait for the next one because in Sopranos builds it's fixed.

I installed snapshot 1322.4 using the Linux shell script because the x64 RPM wouldn't install (dependency problem as indicated in my earlier posts to this thread).
After the first time it crashed snapshot 1322.4 would not maximize. I logged out of the X server then started the X server again, but snapshot 1322.4 still would not maximize. I rebooted the box, then snapshot 1322.4 would maximize.
The second time snapshot 1322.4 crashed then would not maximize, rebooting the box did not help. Not being able to maximize the browser window is not to my liking, so I used the Linux shell script to uninstall snapshot 1322.4 and I am using snapshot 1317.4 again.
Fully patched Mageia Linux 6.0 64-bit, 4.14.70-desktop-2.mga6 kernel.

Hope this is a known bug: sometimes pages freeze for a long time when loading, and when they do, the whole browser goes unresponsive untill that one tab finally fully loads up. Can't really give any example link 'cause it's happening on just random sites (once or twice but not consistently).
-
@cail There's not much that can be done about slow loading / locked up pages, but they shouldn't be affecting the whole browser UI. I reported this as a bug already.
It seems to only be an issue when the tab is focused, so if it's stuck but in the background it doesn't cause the problem.
-
The right click opens the bookmark. It should be open context menu.
-
@kevinarcz Yes, a very old issue since the Bookmarks Bar was first introduced. It needs a lot of work to provide a context menu.
-
@angrypenguin: Thanks, although that is not a solution. With that change nothing would happen unless we built on a Mandriva derivative, in which case the final package would then have the same issue in reverse (i.e. it would only install on Mandriva derivatives).
P.S. You can use the alternative install script while we look into this

-
@angrypenguin the way to go for a more universal package would be Boolean Dependencies.
But (from what I could gather) they are "new" (mid 2015) and not supported in RPMv5, used by most Mandriva derivates for now. -
@ruario: Thanks for trying fixing this. Anyway about installing, I know, I use "rpm -i --nodeps vivaldi-snapshot-xxx.rpm" to force installation. Browser works fine but I can't maximize browser window. When clicking on button [] (maximize) nothing happens.
-
@becm: I might just kill the dependency altogether. It is not really a hard requirement but without it we tend to get people complaining that sites look weird when these fonts are not pre-installed. Still better that than a whole class of users cannot install at all
