Decent bulk image extension?
-
I have tried several different bulk image downloaders (e.g., Fatkun Batch Dl, Bulk Image Dl, Image Dl) but they don't work very well. They all need to download to a default directory, which I don't use. A few are v-e-r-y slow. (I used to use DownloadThemAll on Firefox but it has been discontinued until it can be rewritten.) Does anyone know of an extension or anything that works good?

@LeeU The only extension I know is this.
Chromium seems to force this behaviour -- quote from another extension:
Due to security concerns (see the chrome.downloads API), Chrome extensions are only allowed to download files to targets within the default downloads directory. You may manually circumvent this restriction by creating a "symbolic link" from within the downloads directory to any other direction on your harddrive(s).
The "keep it simple" philosophy of chromium can be rather annoying.

Thanks. It seems the problem is not going to be fixed soon. They should concentrate on fixing the security and stop all the new playthings till it's fixed.
Thanks again.

Disreguarding the bulk part ... I have been downloading where ever I want. In a recent post lamarca helped me figure out the issue with this ... at least as it applied to MY system. Please note that I have never come across a disclaimer like you posted about the Chrome addon.
My issue was that the settings in 'tools>settings' (ALT+P) where I entered MY preferences, where overridden by 'vivaldi://settings/downloads' which where still set to the default behavior of 'always download to the default download folder'. When I set the preferences there to 'open the downloads panel automatically', the download issue was fixed and I can download where ever I want.
I don't know if it's the downloaders I'm using but they work.
PS: To get YouTube to work you need an extension NOT in the Chrome repository.
As to 'bulk' ... I'm still looking. NONE of them are worth anything.
