Hardware Acceleration Broken
-
Hi,
I got a New laptop today (MSi GS63 Stealth) and I updated it to Windows 1804.
After I updated, all my YouTube videos would show up as Solid Green with Audio only.
After some browsing I found that hardware Acceleration is normally the culprit. So I disabled it and lo and behold YouTube works as expected.
A few things about this PC:
It has Dual Graphics Intel/Nvida (I also did just update the drivers.)
GTX 1060 6GB
Intel UHD 630
Windows 10 Ver. 1804
This also Happens in Edge. (It is not Isolated)Does anyone have an Idea of what the culprit might be. I am clueless as to what it might be.

Thanks for the information about the Intel GPU. I think I managed to figure out what might be wrong. Unfortunately I'm in a place where I don't have an internet connection and I can't test whether everything is working again or not. Once I return home I should be able to test it out and let you know what came of it.
(Sorry about the bad grammar I'm on my cell phone)

@christianxlarson We will be waiting for your feedback,

It Works!
When you said it was the Intel GPU it tipped me off that it was hardware related.
It turns out the GPU switching is managed by the Nvidia Control Panel, and Intel is set as the default.
I managed to get the GTX 1060 to Vivaldi.

I made the guide in hopes It'll help other people with the same issue down the line.

@christianxlarson Glad it's working, we have the best GPU analist. @Gwen-Dragon will also be glad to see the output.
I will tag it as resolved. -
