Laptop screen brightness automatically changes on start of Vivaldi
-
Hi, I was a big fan of old Opera. Thanks to Vivaldi now i can use all those features again.
I am facing an issue. Whenever i start Vivaldi it changes my laptop's default brightness to full and when i close it, it changes it back to laptop's previous brightness.
I don't want my laptop brightness to be changed every time i start Vivaldi. I am new, i don't know if it's a bug or is it a option in Vivaldi.
Please help.
Thanks. -
What graphics hardware does it have? I recall nVidia's nvision utility doing some strange things in old Opera, so I imagine something similar here. (No, it isn't a setting in Vivaldi, but your graphics utility may detect that a program uses hardware acceleration and change display options for that program.)

Hello, I don't have any separate graphics hardware. I am using processor builtin graphic.
Intel(R) HD Graphics (Core i3), Intel Corporation compatibleIs there any way to change this behavior. This doesn't happen in Chrome.

Thanks.Has anyone else come across this issue. I started experiencing it in the past week or so. Very odd. Whenever Vivaldi is the active window, the screen dims noticeably, and what's more is that it seems to be adaptive, e.g. if it's a page with a lot of white it dims even more. All my Windows adaptive brightness are turned off, and as soon as i go back to the Window environment as an active window the screen returns to normal. I have Opera, Firefox and IE as well but this happens in none of those in my quick tests thus far. The strangest thing... and remarkably irritating I have to say. This familiar to anyone else or reported elswhere?

It's most likely not a Vivaldi issue. I think I found some possible solution here:
- Right-click on the desktop and select "Intel graphics settings".
- On the newly openned window, click on "Power".
- Then, select "Battery powered" on the menu to the left, and set "Technology of reduction of current consumed by the screens" to "Off".

If the brilliance exchanging is making you insane, here's how to disable versatile splendor.
Go to Control Panel > Hardware and Sound > Power Options, at that point, click on "Change plan settings" by your effective power plan.
Click on "Change Advanced Power settings."
Scroll down to Display, then under Enable adaptive brightness, switch it off for both the battery and plugged in modes.
Adaptable brilliance is available in Windows 7 and 8, yet might be distinct if your equipment underpins it.
