[1.15.xxx.xx] Broken embedded videos
-
@gwen-dragon
Had I known or remembered when or if have I turned it on I probably would have checked it, but problems with embedded videos returned in search only problems with extensions like Ghostery which I don't use
-
@ubik Well, I've learnt something too, I hadn't realised that a profile reset would NOT reset the "experimental flag" activations!?

Yes, i only discovered this by accident within the past few days during the 700,000 profile rebuilds i've been doing. Initially i simply assumed that this would give me all default Flags, until one time i specifically checked & saw that all "my" ones were still set. Logically therefore the Flags are not stored anywhere within Default, but whether they're somewhere in the parent directory, or otherwise in the actual pgm directory, i dunno.

@steffie it's set in condensed JSON file
<settingsroot>/Local State
asbrowser.enabled_labs_experiments
list of identifier strings. -
@becm Aha, brilliant, thanks.

Indeed I was surprised by that too. I assume these "flag" settings are stored outside of the Default user profile?
@Steffie Cleared that up. Thx. Still it is unusual that it does not reset during the creation of the new profile...a thing to remember for sure.

Correction: No she didn't. Credit where credit's due, i merely deduced that Flags are somewhere outside Default, but the clever person is @becm
I know this is a Windows thread, but presumably your structure would be not too dissimilar to:
