Typing after Alt+Shift opens menu
-
Alt+Shift (change input language) activates the focus on the menu. So when start typing the menu is opened and no text is entered on the page (as expected by the user).

@gwen-dragon
i have this problem also, thank you for reporting it
-
Hello,
The menu still appears when switching workspaces with Ctrl+Alt+arrows on Ubuntu 18.10 with Gnome.
-
I have the same problem using Manjaro linux with the shortcut Alt+` combination, but using Ctrl+Alt+Arrow for switching desktops works fine
-
@tanguymario That seems to be caused by the key not being recognised by Vivaldi UI (you may want to try this hook).
-
@Gwen-Dragon , I still have this issue. After pressing
(Left)Alt+Shift
, to change input language, the menu opens (and remains opened until I pressEsc
). ;I use:
- Ubuntu 20.04.
- Vivaldi 3.7.2218.49 (Stable channel) (64-bit)
-
@Gwen-Dragon plus the IM might matter (or maybe not, since probably most of them cause V not to get a notification about the other keypress).
-
@Gwen-Dragon, actually I'm not sure how I set it because it seems that in 20.04 it's impossible. Since I upgraded to 20.04 from 18.04, I assume I set it in 18.04 and this somehow kept the setting although I see that the current shortcut is "Super+space bar".
The DM I'm using is GNOME.
I get updates for Vivaldi from here:
And seems like I don't have any pending updates so I'm not sure why you say the browser is not up-to-date.
-
Just tested it with the fcitx5 IM & cannot reproduce…
