The translation to "Swiss High German" is a absolute mess. You should drop those translations asp. It's not Swiss High German, but a local dialect, which is not as readable as it could be, if it actually was High German.
The mail difference between German "High German" and Swiss "High German" are very small. In Switzerland, we don't write the sharp "ẞ". Instead we write two "S".
In the translation as of today there are things like "Suechi mit bing" which translates to Search with bing. But it sounds very childish and nobody would like to see something like this on a presentation or something like that. in short: This is very unprofessional and it's a reason to not use this browser.

Yes, 😱 the translation could be much better. See state of translation.
But i do not know if someone is able to create a better "Schwyzerdütsch" Vivaldi. 💐

          Hi Tsueri,

my name is Ilia, I'm a localization manager in Vivaldi.

Thanks a lot for your feedback. Let me explain the situation.

Actually, we have no translators in the Vivaldi company - absolutely all translations made by volunteers. And, of course, sometimes we can't check the translation quality - nobody speak these languages in Vivaldi.

And we had volunteer for this language (German (Switzerland)), but he stopped his activity a long time ago. Thus, now this translation very uncomplete (just about 40% done). Now after your report I will disable this translation from browser.

At the same time, if you want and have time, you can translate the rest of this language and correct the mistakes. Just let me know - and I will send you all instructions.

And, if you have no time - maybe some your friends can help. We appreciate any help that can make browser better.

            Hi @Shpankov

I would like to have closer look. My baby 👶 keeps me up at night, so maybe I can find some time.

I registered here and my username is tsueri. I found nothing to translate so far.

I finished the translation. How important are the chromium-strings?

                    Wow! It was fast 🙂

Chromium-strings - yes, important, these strings replaced the original Chromium strings in many places.

Also important for Android version - mobile-common, android and ios.

And for web-site important the all the rest projects.

And locked projects is not actual anymore.

@Shpankov ok. got those too. I will translate the rest in the comming days.
One thing, that, I think, has motivated translating de_CH to "Swiss German" was the translation of this language Code. de_CH does not mean actual "Schwizerdütsch" or "Schweizerdeutsch" / "Swiss German". This is not a writtten language.
The localisation of German in Switzerland should not be "Swiss German" but "German (Switzerland)". This is then translated to "Deutsch (Schweiz)". This is much more precise and makes it clear, that a localized version of Software in Switzerland is not "Swiss German" but German, that is adapted to Switzerland (No sharp ß, Swiss Date format, Currency etc.). It's the same for the french-speaking part and the italian-speaking part in Switzerland. Those should be "French (Switzerland)" and "Italian (Switzerland)".
So it would be nice, if "Swiss German" and "Schweizerdeutsch" would be removed and replaced by "German (Switzerland)" and "Deutsch (Schweiz)" in the german translation.
