YouTube Live Chat disconnecting continuously
-
I usually join a live chat during a YouTube podcast each week, and last night I couldn't use the live chat very well. It was disconnecting all the time. I'd have to press F5 while in the chat window, then 5 seconds later is would say it's been disconnected and it's trying to reconnect; it never would.
I spent an hour pressing F5 every 30 seconds. Restarting the browser didn't help, and everything else was working. Everyone else in the chat said it was working okay.I was just about to try to re-install an older version, as this and the User Agent Spoofer problem are making it a total pain to use now, but it sounds like the next version has the UA problem fixed, so I'll hang on a bit to see if this chat one can be sorted out, too.

I have the three RTC boxes ticked, and the 3rd Party Cookies aren't blocked.
I haven't changed any extensions or settings in the last few weeks. I think it was working last Friday, though I may have missed the live broadcast then and watched the recording the next day.
I only have AdBlock Plus and Ghostery (Ad Blocker; which I noticed showed a "0" last night, so shouldn't have blocked anything). Other things are UA Spoofer (which is currently broken), and Stylish (which I don't use for YouTube). If you go here you'll see it (unless it's me): [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UO3h4FBLWqY](link url)

No problem with this link, other than I often see streamings on YouTube and never had problems (Win 7 32 4Gb RAM).
Maybe it's a problem with memory -
Thanks for letting me know it worked for you. I went through disabling things and it's the User Agent AGAIN! That one bug has caused me a load of hassle.
I might try the pre-release version if I can, as that would fix all my problems since 1.14 broke a lot of things for me.
I've disabled UA Switcher and the chat window is happy again.[EDIT] I've just tried the 1.15 snapshot and that gets the UA Switcher working again, but now the chat window in YouTube is totally gone with a message saying the browser is out of date. Hopefully that's just because it isn't a normal stable release and will work when it's released properly.
[edit 2] The above edit was because I'd been messing about with the UA Switcher so much that it had defaulted to Opera 12, so that's why the Chat window stopped working. Everything is now as it should be with 1.15. Phew!

I have also installed a UA switcher, but like other extensions, I have it disabled normally and I only use it when I have problems on a page without this extension.
I have many extensions installed, but permanently I only use the indispensable ones, this avoids problems in many incompatible pages with one or another extension -
