[Bug] Middle-mouse drag starts selecting text instead of scrolling
-
I filed a bug about this (VB-33814). Just curious if anyone else had this appear? This didn't happen in Vivaldi 1.10, but after updating to the latest 1.12 it happens 100% of the time.
- Middle-mouse click anywhere on a website
- Hold the button down and scroll up or down
- It will start to select the text as you go up/down.
It basically behaves the same way like when you left-click and hold, and then move to select text. Except middle-mouse click & hold is generally meant for scrolling a page - not selecting text.
Update
This actually happens with right-click drag also. You will see the context menu, but also the selection. -
Nice!

Now it doesn't select but anyway dragging doesn't even work.

It appears there's a regression in the newest version:
1.14.1077.45 (Stable channel) (32-bit)
Dragging with middle mouse selects the text again, instead of scrolling the page up/down.

Please fix this, it's extremely annoying.

In Vivaldi and in Opera, middle-click is supposed to enable auto-scroll (originally called "panning" in Opera/Presto, like panning a movie camera). Just click the button then move the mouse, the page will start to scroll at a speed that depends on how far you moved the mouse.

@sgunhouse Yes, that still works, but it's not supposed to select text when you hold MMB and drag. That bug was fixed, then it broke again.
