Twitch.tv issue
-
Every time I watch a twitch.tv stream, the page I'm watching will crash after about an hour and leave me with this:
I have tried it on two separate Windows 10 machines so far, both of which have the same issue. The crash occurs using both the flash player and the html5 player, as well as with hardware acceleration on or off. For the second machine, no extensions were added.
General Specs, will provide detailed ones if necessary:
Both machines are running up to date Windows 10 64bit, Intel CPUs, Nvidia GPUs. -
Hi, do you have chat active during the watch? Theater mode or fullscreen? And is the tab active or in the background? (Are you playing while watching on a second monitor). Also, what version of Vivaldi are you using? 32 bit or 64 bit? Thanks
-
@Aronand Chat active. Usually fullscreen. Tab active as well as when on a second screen. 32 bit.
-
Any specific resolution you watch twitch on?
-
@Aronand Typically, the highest available so 1080p.
-
I've installed the 64bit version and the same thing happens.
-
I have this issue as well. Also video clips on twitch just stop randomly, some times I have no error watching them but usually playback just stops middle of the clip. Playing at 1080p and chat open.
I have windows 7 64bit using 1.10.867.42 (Stable channel) (64-bit) version of Vivaldi.
Feel free to ask more information if you need.

I have the exact same issue! I even tried to downgrade to the previous version of Vivaldi (since it seemingly coincided with the upgrade) but it didn't change anything, so my guess is that it's due to a change in twitch.tv?
Also running Win10 x64, Intel CPU, Nvidia GPU.

What build of Windows 10? (How to find out the version of Windows that you are using) under Microsoft Windows it will tell you the version like 1703 (1703 is the build know as the Creators Update that came out in April 2017)
Strange I tried to watch a video on https://www.twitch.tv/kevytv and the player would not load (HTML5 player), tired a 2nd time after turning mini player off, reload and during the ad Vivaldi had a full crash (OS crash reported showed not Vivaldi on macOS 10.12.5)
https://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/1253460-broadcast-requirements list the requirements for broadcasters including some codec info, & some more here https://stream.twitch.tv
Not seeing anything on their Twitter support page https://twitter.com/TwitchSupport/with_replies
I watch a stream a few months ago just fine.

For those saying "it works just for me", please do note that the crash doesn't happen for at least an hour. I know the OP says so but it might've been overlooked anyway.
Winver 1703
From what I can tell, it doesn't matter if I have the website in full screen or not, or if I am running Better Twitch TV, or anything like that--even a clean install (or anonymous window) does the same thing.
