Social Media Links Open Blank Tabs

When I click a link on social media sites, a new tab opens and the progress meter along the top shows the page loading, but when it finishes loading, the tab is simply blank. I can copy the URL and paste it manually into a new tab, and then the page does display properly.
I have uBlock Origin, LastPass and Evernote Clipper extensions installed, but no others. Turning off uBlock Origin does not resolve the problem.
This issue is reliably repeatable. I have tested it with Facebook and Reddit so far. Twitter does not experience this problem. But sometimes animated gifs from Imgur fail to load. I haven't seen a pattern to that yet, and it may not be related.
